DIY log planter for plants was a fun project we did with my husband. After we cut a tree in our backyard, we had to decide what to do with it. The easiest thing to do is to cut it for wood for the fireplace, but we can buy them. We had a great trunk from which we could do something interesting. Then I offered to make it like a planter and plant plants in it.

Below in the article I will show you how we did it and how it looks finished.

How to make a DIY log plant for plants

You can make small or large log planters, it all depends on your imagination and the available space you want to decorate. We have a place and decided to use the entire log.

We planted this type of Sempervivum plants “Red Beauty” (Hens and Chicks) because they are easy to grow, are perennial and do not freeze the winter. So we will have plants in our DIY log plant for plants throughout the year.

You can plant whatever you want plants or flowers. You can make compositions of different types and it will even be even more beautiful.

In the landscaping of our yard I prefer to have evergreen plants to be beautiful and green throughout the seasons.

That’s what our DIY log planter for plants looks like, and we are very pleased with the end result. I hope you enjoyed our idea and inspired you to do and you DIY log planters for your yard, garden or balcony.
