Mulled wine is the ideal hot winter drink for people who love wine. Known with different names in different countries and very popular especially during Christmas time, mulled wine is such an aromatic drink, that no wine lover can resist it.
This drink is very easy and fast to prepare. Everyone can add spices and fruits to their taste. Today I will present my favorite combination of tastes.
The bonus is that the house smells amazingly pleasant while you prepare your drink.
How to make mulled wine
• 1 bottle of dry red wine (can be a cheap one)
• 1 orange and 2 clementines, sliced
• Dry blueberries (not obligatory, but add unique aroma and flavor)
• Spices: 2 cinnamons stick, 2 star anise, 6 whole cloves
• 4 tablespoons of sugar (or as much as you like)
Warm up the wine and all of the other ingredients. It is an important rule for the drink not to boil because it will evaporate the alcohol. Leave on fire for about 5-10 minutes without boiling. You can consume the warm beverage right away, but it will be even more delicious if you let it sit for at least an hour or more to bring together the flavors.
